WoW Classic – Duskwood Tin Ore Mining Route

by Leave a Comment

In all low-level WoW Classic zones, Tin Veins usually share a spawn with other minerals, like Copper Veins or Iron Deposits. This being said, it’s not that easy to gather Tin Ore consistently, without coming across other minerals. However, by following this Duskwood mining route, you should get more Tin Ore than the other aforementioned minerals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum level 40 character
  • Minimum 65 mining skill
  • At least 60% speed mount
  • Mining Pick
  • GatherMate2 addon (optional)

Where to go:

As the title suggests, this Tin Ore mining route is in Duskwood, so here are the easiest ways to reach this zone as Alliance and Horde.

Alliance: Fly to Darkshire (75, 46) in the eastern part of Duskwood. Or, if you haven’t discovered this Flight Path yet, start from Stormwind, go into Elwynn Forest, and cross the Nazferiti River at its southern border into Duskwood.

Horde: Since Duskwood is an Alliance zone, there is no Horde Flight Path here. The closest FP is in Stranglethorn Vale at Grom’ Gol Base Camp (32, 29). So, either take the zeppelin there from Orgrimmar or fly there, then follow the road north into Duskwood.

What to do:

Simply follow the route pointed out on the map above and collect all the Tin Veins, Copper Veins, and Iron Deposits that you can find. You’ll also find Silver, and occasionally Gold.

As you can see, the route focuses on the southern part of the zone. That’s because this area is packed with monster camps, and each one of them has several possible mineral vein spawn points. So, basically, the areas that you shouldn’t leave unchecked are:

  • The area around the spider cave at (86, 48) – the path that leads to the cave starts at (83, 56);
  • Tranquil Gardens Cemetery (82, 66);
  • Roland’s Doom mine (73, 75) and the Worgen camp around it;
  • The Rotting Orchard (63, 75);
  • Yorgen Farmstead (52, 75);
  • Vul’Gol Ogre Mound (36, 72) and the ogre cave here at (34, 77);
  • The area south of Addle’s Stead and west of the Vul’Gol Ogre Mound, at around (25, 78);

For all these areas, most of the mineral nodes are on the cliffs to the south, so stick close to those cliffs.

Once you cover the whole southern Duskwood area, follow the road back to your starting point. Completing this route should take around 10 minutes (or more, if you don’t have a fast mount), leaving enough time for the mineral veins to respawn.

Loot:

After one hour of mining on this route (with a 150% mount speed and a 60+ character), I got the following stuff:

  • Tin Ore x 116
  • Copper Ore x 94
  • Iron Ore x 37
  • Silver Ore x 18
  • Coarse Stone x 153
  • Heavy Stone x 47
  • Rough Stone x 80
  • Tigerseye x 1
  • Lesser Moonstone x 2
  • Shadowgem x 3
  • Citrine x 1
  • Moss Agate x 1

Tips:

This Duskwood mining route focuses on the southern side of the zone. However, there are several possible mineral vein spawn points on the outside edges of the Twilight Grove. So, instead of following the road back to the starting point of your route, once you finish with the southern part, you can go north around Twilight Grove as well. However, the detour is rather long, and you’ll waste more time this way, especially if you only have 60% mount speed.

There are no minerals up at the Twilight Grove, in the middle of Duskwood.

The GatherMate2 addon is not necessary, but quite a great tool to have as it saves the mineral nodes to your map, making it easier to locate them on your next visit to the area.
