Especially if you have two crafting professions on a character, that require True Iron Ore and Blackrock Ore, your garrison mine just might not generate enough ore for your to pick up every day, for your orders and crafts. That’s why many players buy the extra amounts of ore that they need, from AH.
Now, Draenor ore such as True Iron and Blackrock Ore, are pretty cheap at the moment, and since most players, whether or not they have Mining, get an important quantity from their garrison, prices for these will remain low. So, if you want to use your Mining profession to make some gold, Thorium, Adamantite or Elementium Ore might just be a better call. However, even if it’s not quite profitable to make gold by mining and selling WoD ore, here’s a good spot where you can collect these minerals without too much of a hassle.
Requirements:
- Minimum level 95;
- Mining skill 600;
- Mining Pick;
- Ground mount;
- Gatherer Addon (optional).
Where to go:
If you play Alliance, fly to Fort Wrynn in Talador. If you play Horde, fly to Vol’jin’s Pride, in Talador.
What to do:
Leave your faction’s main camp, and start circling the area marked on the map, gathering each True Iron and Blackrock Ore node that you see. Compared to other areas in the game, this particular area has better accessibility, and a higher concentration of ore. On top of that, you will find plenty of Lumber here, so in case you have a Lumber Mill in your garrison, you’ll gather plenty, for your daily Garrison Resource orders.
Last but not least, by mining these you will also get Primal Spirits and Draenic Stones, soulbound resources, also used in garrison orders and crafts.
Loot:
Within one hour, I managed to gather:
True Iron Ore x 163 = 400g / stack = 326g
Blackrock Ore x 182 = 380g / stack = 345g
Primal Spirit x 14
Draenic Stone x 115
Total: 671g
Tips:
When mining, from time to time, a Goren mob will spawn and attack you. Don’t run away from it to lose aggro. Make sure you kill it, as it will drop you an additional 8-10 ore, similar to the ore node you were mining.
