Although I’ve never got more Adamantite Ore per hour in Netherstorm than in Nagrand, Netherstorm still is a fairly decent zone to gather this metal. That’s because its level range is 67 – 70, so you’ll find more Rich Adamantite Deposits and Khorium Veins. So, here’s an optimized mining route for Netherstorm in TBC Classic WoW.
Requirements:
- Minimum 350 mining skill
- Minimum 225 riding skill
- At least 150% speed flying mount
- Minimum character level 70
- GatherMate2 addon (optional)
Where to go:
The main neutral quest hub in Netherstorm is Area 52. Thus, it’s best to start your mining session from here. So, whether you play Alliance or Horde, teleport to Shattrath City in Terokkar Forest, then fly to Area 52 in the Netherstorm. If you don’t have this TBC Classic zone discovered, you can simply fly north from Hellfire Peninsula, over the nether, using your flying mount.
What to do:
Follow the route above and collect all the Adamantite Deposits, Fel Iron Deposits, and Khorium Veins that you can find.
The areas that you shouldn’t leave unchecked are:
- The Heap (31, 76)
- Arklon Ruins (41, 75)
- Kirin’Var Village (56, 87)
- Manaforge Coruu (48, 85)
- Sunfury Hold (58, 78)
- The area south of Manaforge Duro (58, 61)
- The Scrap Field (51, 56)
- Eco-Dome Midrealm (45, 53)
- Ethereum Staging Grounds (55, 41)
- Access Shaft Zeon, the mine under Manaforge Ultris – the entrance is at (61, 45)
- Celestial Ridge (72, 40)
- Ruins of Farahlon (55, 23)
- Eco-Dome Farfield (46, 11)
- Forge Base: Gehenna (40, 16)
- Socrethar’s Seat (30, 16)
- Forge Base: Oblivion (36, 26)
- Eco-Dome Midrealm (44, 34)
- Manaforge Ara (26, 39) and Terelleum Mine underneath it – the entrance is at (25, 43)
- Ruins of Enkaat (33, 52)
I sometimes skip most of the “floating island” where Area 52 is, and go straight to Manaforge Coruu and Kirin’Var Village after I finish with the mine under Manaforge Ara. That’s because most players start their questing in Netherstorm at Area 52, and spend a lot of time on this particular island. So, most of the time, herbs and minerals are scarce here, even though the area has plenty of possible spawn points for Adamantite, Khorium Fel Iron, Netherbloom, etc.
You can also skip the eastern area at Celestial Ridge. Although there are at least two possible mineral spawn points there, I rarely found any up.
Loot:
After one hour of mining following this route in Netherstorm, I got the following valuables:
- Adamantite Ore x 151
- Eternium Ore x 30
- Fel Iron Ore x 46
- Khorium Ore x 12
- Mote of Earth x 205
- Mote of Fire x 27
- Living Ruby x 1
- Blood Garnet x 1
- Shadow Draenite x 1
- Golden Draenite x 3
- Flame Spessarite x 2
- Azure Moonstone x 1
Tips:
The mines under Manaforge Ara and Manaforge Ultris have a rather confusing layout and they’re packed with aggro mobs. Thus, before diving in any of them, it’s best to fly above the area to see if there are any Adamantite or Khorium nodes up; they should appear as greyed out on your radar. If there isn’t more than one mineral node up in a mine at a given moment, I don’t enter it until the next time I pass through that particular area.
The Gan’arg Warp-Tinker demons in the Terelleum Mine (under Manaforge Ara) have a Disarm effect. So, if you play a melee character that’s only around level 70, kill them quickly, or don’t pull too many. They can be really difficult to take down.
Kill Ethereum Jailors (if you see any) around Manaforge Ultris. They drop Ethereum Prison Keys which can be sold for nice amounts of gold. However, they only drop keys if you’re Honored with the Consortium faction and have completed the quest “A Mission of Mercy“.
