Although Adamantite Ore can be found in several Outland zones, Nagrand takes the cake simply because it has several ogre caves and lairs in which only Adamantite Ore or Khorium Ore can spawn, so you can basically filter out Fel Iron Ore if you only want Adamantite.
The following TBC Classic Adamantite mining route is somewhat shortened compared to the other one we’ve covered here. That’s because it focuses on the ogre caves and other Nagrand areas with less Fel Iron.
Requirements:
- Minimum 350 mining skill
- Minimum 225 riding skill
- At least 150% speed flying mount
- Minimum character level 70
- GatherMate2 addon (optional)
Where to go:
The main Nagrand Alliance camp is Telaar (53, 70) and the main Horde camp is Garadar (56, 35). So, depending on the side you play, you can have its main base as your starting point for your mining session.
What to do:
Collect all the Adamantite, Fel Iron, and Khorium that you can find. The main areas that you shouldn’t leave unchecked are the following:
- Twilight Ridge (10, 40)
- Warmaul Hill (27, 21) – there are two ogre caves here – their entrances are at (27.0, 23.6) and (27.2, 18.5)
- Laughing Skull Ruins (44, 20)
- The ogre cave at Northwind Cleft (41, 31) – north of Halaa
- The ogre cave at Southwind Cleft (50, 57) – southeast of Halaa
- Telaari Basin (58, 53) all the way to Ring of Trials (65, 55)
- Windyreed Village (75, 52)
- Burning Blade Ruins (75, 65)
- The area around Kil’Sorrow Fortress (70, 81)
If there are other miners in Nagrand and you have competition, you can also add Skysong Lake (58, 29) and Lake Sunspring (33, 48) to your route. Each one of the lakes holds several Adamantite Deposit spawn points. However, if you don’t have water walking or a druid with Flight Form, you’ll have to swim to the shore each time in order to re-summon your mount, which will slow you down.
Loot:
After one hour of mining while following this route, I got the following goods:
- Adamantite Ore x 199
- Fel Iron Ore x 71
- Eternium Ore x 38
- Khorium Ore x 16
- Primal Earth x 15
- Primal Fire x 3
- Blood Garnet x 2
- Shadow Draenite x 1
- Deep Peridot x 2
- Flame Spessarite x 1
- Talasite x 1
Tips:
To avoid competition is best to have your mining sessions early in the morning, if possible.
If you have Engineering and the Zapthrottle Mote Extractor, you can also gather Mote of Air from the Gas Clouds found all around Nagrand. This route covers at least a few several Gas Cloud locations. Primal Air can go for 20-30g each.
If you have Jewelcrafting, you can Prospect some of your Adamantite Ore for Adamantite Powder and gems. You may get a better return by selling the powder and gems (or jewels). You need 325 Jewelcrafting skill to prospect Adamantite.
If you have Blacksmithing, you can craft some Adamantite Rapiers and Adamantite Rods; these can be sold sometimes for considerably higher profits.
