Zaralek Cavern is the new zone introduced in patch 10.1. In terms of Mining, this zone brings a brand new type of ore deposit buff – Metamorphic. By mining Metamorphic Serevite Deposits and Metamorphic Draconium Deposits, you can gather a new resource – Zaralek Glowspores, which are required by several new crafts.
So, here’s a mining route in Zaralek Cavern.
Requirements:
- Dragon Isles Mining
- Mastering the Elements trait unlocked
- GatherMate2 addon (optional)
Where to go:
Fly to Loamm in the Zaralek Caven (56, 55) and have this as starting point for your mining session.
What to do:
Follow the route above and gather all the Serevite Ore and Draconium Ore that you can find.
Basically, you can just stick to the central area and circle the lava river. That’s the place with the highest concentration of mineral deposits. But nonetheless, in case the competition is too high, you can also visit:
- Deephollow Lake (61, 52)
- The two caves at Slitherdrake Roost (54, 32)
- Zaqali Caldera (31, 47)
The area at Zaqali Caldera is packed with elite mobs and mining here requires extra care. Plus, as you enter the area, you’ll get a stacks of Dragonslayer’s Sight and upon reaching 10 stacks, you will be automatically dismounted. So, it’s a good idea to have at least 3-4 charges of Vigor if you’re going to venture inside this area.
In the caves at Slitherdrake Roost you can find up to three Serevite or Draconium Seams. So, this particular location is worth checking periodically. Deephollow Lake has several ore deposit spawn points and if people don’t check it often, you’ll always find at least 2-3 nodes up here.
I haven’t found any ore deposits at the Sulfur Wastes except on the banks of the lava river. The area around Aberrus (in the north) doesn’t seem to have ore deposits either. Also, the southern area of the zone (at Glimmerog) doesn’t have a super high density of ore deposits, so it’s not worth checking.
It’s best to keep your Overload Elemental Deposit for the Metamorphic Serevite Deposits and Metamorphic Draconium Deposits. By using this mining ability on these deposits, you’ll get plenty of extra Zaralek Glowspores which are a pretty expensive resource, at least for the moment.
Loot:
After one hour of mining in Zaralek Cavern, mostly in the middle area, I got the following valuables:
- Serevite Ore x 785
- Draconium Ore x 116
- Khaz’gorite x 30
- Salt Deposit x 65
- Zaralek Glowspores x 143
- Rousing Order x 67
- Rousing Ire x 29
- Rousing Fire x 64
- Rousing Earth x 34
- Rousing Frost x 11
- Rousing Air x 5
For this particular run, I used blue (T5) mining gear and had over 145 KP trained in the Mastering the Elements talent tree, as well as capped Mining Process. The competition was also pretty high; on multiple occasions, there were at least 5-6 other players mining the same node I was mining.
Tips:
If you have an Alchemist with the Transmute: Dracothyst recipe, as well as capped Transmutation and Chemical Synthesis, it’s a good idea to craft Dracothyst from your Zaralek Glowspores. A nice Multicraft proc on this particular craft can bring you juicy profits (at least for now).
Before starting any gathering session in Zaralek Cavern, it’s a good idea to collect all the Dragon Glyphs in the area. Unlocking Ground Skimming and Land’s Blessing in your Dragonriding skill tree can help a lot with your vigor management.
