Felcloth is one of the highest level types of cloth that you can get in the Vanilla WoW zones. It typically drops from level 52 – 62 demons and doesn’t have a very high drop rate. That’s why farming it can be quite profitable. One of the best places to farm Felcloth is Dire Maul – Warpwood Quarter.
Requirements:
- Minimum level 75 character
- AoE spec
- The Crescent Key (or 300 Lockpicking skill)
Note: The Crescent Key drops from Pusillin, which is located in the Warpwood Quarter of Dire Maul. You’ll find him on the left side of the door, after you enter the Warpwood Quarter. In order to get the key, you’ll have to talk to him, then chase after him through the dungeon until he eventually summons some adds and attacks you. Once you kill him, you can loot the key from his body. The entrance to the Warpwood Quarter is at (43.8, 67.4), inside the Broken Commons area of Dire Maul.
Where to go:
Dire Maul is located in the northern part of Feralas, and has several wings, with different entrances. For this particular farming route, you’ll need to enter the Warpwood Quarter, through the entrance located north of Camp Mojache, at Lariss Pavilion (76, 36).
What to do:
1. Once inside the dungeon, go west through The Hidden Reach; clear all the demons (satyr and imps) in this area and loot their corpses.
2. Follow the corridor up to the area where Lethtendris is. Kill all the demons here including Lethtendris and her pet imp.
3. Go through the southwestern corridor to the lower level. Clear all the demons and the boss, Hydrospawn here.
4. Go through the northern corridor up to the platform above Hydrospawn. Kill all the demons here, including the boss, Zevrim Thornhoof.
5. Jump off Zevrim’s platform and go back all the way you came in to the Lariss Pavillion entrance.
6. Exit the instance, reset it and repeat.
Evidently, since only the demons drop Felcloth, don’t waste time killing the plant and treant mobs.
The maps above should give you a better idea about the route you should follow inside the instance. However, the WoW Classic dungeons don’t have maps, so we’ve used the maps provided in the retail version of the game. The design of the Warpwood Quarter in Dire Maul is basically the same in both versions of the game and the bosses are located in the same chambers.
With a well-geared, level 75+ character and an AoE spec, one run shouldn’t take more than 10-12 minutes. This being said, 5 runs (which is basically a complete dungeon lockout) should take you around one hour.
Loot:
After 5 runs inside Warpwood Quarter following the route above, I got the following valuables:
- Felcloth x 27
- Runecloth x 341
- Green Item x 18
- Blue (BoE) Item x 4
- Traveler’s Backpack x 2
- Core of Elements x 13
- Essence of Water x 1
- Gold after selling the trash: ~100g
The highest amount of Felcloth I got in one run was 8, the lowest amount was 4.
Tips:
If you don’t have Crescent Key – start one run from the Warpwood Quarter main entrance at the Broken Commons (43.8, 67.4) and do Pusillin’s quest.
The Wildspawn Trickster demons have a nasty stun effect – Paralyzing Poison – which lasts 8 seconds. Therefore, when you pull groups of demons that include tricksters, kill them as quickly as possible.
Needless to say, dungeon farming is best done with an Enchanter character. This way, you can disenchant the blue and green BoP items for shards, dusts, and essences. You’ll need at least 225 skill in Enchanting to be able to disenchant the items dropped by the mobs in Dire Maul – Warpwood Quarter.
If you have a character with at least 250 skill in Tailoring, you can turn some of the Felcloth into Mooncloth, and sell those for better profits.
The Pattern: Mooncloth is sold by Qia (61, 37) in Everlook, Winterspring.
