There are quite a few good places to farm Frostweave Cloth in the game, including a few instances. However, the spot I’m going to describe here does not require you to defeat elites, which might be more suitable for lower level characters. That’s why, in my opinion, this is the best spot to farm Frostweave Cloth. So, here’s a short WoW guide for farming this crafting material, pointing out where you must go, and what mobs to grind on.
Requirements:
- Minimum level 80;
- Tailoring: minimum 325 skill;
- Northern Cloth Scavenging;
- Flying mount.
Where to go:
Alliance or Horde, teleport to Dalaran and from there fly to the Shadow Vault (43,23). From there, move South to the Icecrown Glacier, around (44,54). Or, you can fly directly to the Icecrown Glacier (44,54) from Dalaran.
What to do:
What you need to do is pretty much basic and simple. Start grinding on the Converted Heroes (level 80) here and loot their remains. However, go only for the grouped ones, don’t waste time running after the ones that wander around solo. They have a pretty nice drop rate for Frostweave Cloth, and even if you don’t have Tailoring, it’s not a bad spot to grind for this material.
In case you come here with a lower level character than 80, be careful when pulling these mobs. They have a very nasty slow debuff and you might find it very difficult to escape from them.
Loot:
After only 30 minutes spent here, I got the following loot:
Frostweave Cloth x 262 = 60g/stack = 786g
Runic Mana Potion x 4 = 5g/each = 20g
Runic Healing Potion x 4 = 5g/each = 20g
Green Item x 4 = 100g/each = 400g
Cash (after selling the trash loot): 93g
TOTAL: 1319g after 30 minutes of grinding.
Tips:
Before selling the cloth as it is, check out the prices for Frostweave Bolts. By crafting and selling the bolts you can increase the value of the cloth. Also, check out the prices for Frostweave Bags. Prices for these bags are usually high, so you might as well craft and sell those.
Prices for cloth scraps usually fluctuate but in this case, since not many players farm in Northrend you may as well find none at AH. Therefore you can even sell your Frostweave for 100g per stack.
The Converted Heroes drop a lot of junk loot, as in grey weapons and armor pieces, which all have a 2-3g vendor price. Therefore, it’s a plus if you have a Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth or any summonable NPC to which you can sell stuff.
On a PvP server, always keep an eye out for enemy players. This being the best spot for Frostweave Cloth, there’s a good chance you won’t be the only one farming here.
