Dragonflight – Alchemical Flavor Pocket Farming Method

by Leave a Comment

The Alchemical Flavor Pocket is an Optional Crafting Reagent that can be used in an item enabling it to improve the Well Fed buff, increasing its duration by 100%, and empowering the buff to persist through death. The best part about it, is that the reagent goes into the “Add Embellishment” slot during the crafting of the item, but the final crafted item won’t count as an Embellished item. Thus, an item including the modifier from this crafting reagent will count as a 3rd Embellished item, and currently (patch 10.1), a character can wear a maximum of only two Embellished pieces of gear. Therefore, this crafting reagent is pretty expensive (at least for now); it’s also rather rare because it is not a 100% drop, and you can only get one per character, per week.

So, here is a short guide on how to farm the Alchemical Flavor Pocket.

Requirements:

  • At least one level 60+ character
  • Dragon Riding unlocked

Where to go:

Fly to Iskaara (13, 49) in The Azure Span.

What to do:

First of all, the Alchemical Flavor Pocket crafting reagent drops from the Supply-Laden Soup Pot which is a reward from the weeklyPleeqi - NPC at Iskaara in Dragonflight quest “Community Feast“. This being said, all you have to do to obtain this reward is to accept the quest from Pleeqi (13.50, 48.51) at Iskaara (he’s right near the big pot), participate in the Community Feast event, and complete three tasks given by Big Kinook during this event, then turn in the quest.

Now, the idea is to have a bunch of characters of level 60+ logged at Iskaara, and when the Community Feast event starts, complete the quest (with the same name) from Pleeqi with each one. If you’re lucky with the tasks given by Big Kinook, you should be able to complete three of them along with the quest, in one minute (give or take) to obtain your Supply-Laden Soup Pot on one character. Then, log in the next character and complete the quest, and so on, until the event ends.

The Community Feast event lasts 15 minutes, so you should be able to complete the quest with at least 10 characters for the duration of one event. Unfortunately, even if the event is recurrent every 90 minutes, the quest “Community Feast” from Pleeqi can only be accepted and completed once per week, per character. As mentioned above, the Alchemical Flavor Pocket is not 100% drop from the quest reward package. So, by doing this with as many characters as possible, you have a higher chance of obtaining one, or multiple every week.

Supply Laden Soup Pot - Community Feast Quest Reward

To give you an idea of the rarity of this crafting reagent, I’ve been doing this with 10 characters for over a few months. The most pockets I got in a week were three, but there were also weeks in a row in which I didn’t get any after doing the weekly quest with all 10 characters.

Tips:

Important: Pleeqi may not always have the quest up after a weekly reset. However, he should have the quest once the Community Feast event starts and you receive your first order from Big Kinook.

In case you haven’t taken part in the Community Feast before, it is pretty straightforward. All you need to do is stay near the big pot when the event starts, to get a task from Big Kinook. The tasks are simple, including purchasing items from NPCs in Iskaara and throwing them into the pot, catching fish from nearby fish schools and throwing them into the pot, and occasionally defeating mobs attacking the pot and then throwing the slabs of meat that fall from them into the pot. When you need to purchase an item from an NPC, its location should be highlighted on your minimap.

Flying from Valdrakken to Iskaara via Dragon Riding takes around 1:35 – 1:40 minutes, while if using the Flight Path, it takes close to 3:00 minutes. Therefore, if the event has started, and you have one character still eligible for the quest logged or bound in Valdrakken, it is definitely faster to fly to Iskaara via your own dragon.

Although the quest “Community Feast” requires you to do 5 tasks for Big Kinook during the event, it now completes after you finish only three.
